| Streamside's guided
fishing trips take you to the best rivers Michigan has to offer. There is no better way to
fly fish Michigan rivers than by floating in a drift boat. You'll be perched high above the water, running down a beautiful river with a perfect shot at every spot a trophy Trout, Steelhead,
Salmon or Smallmouth might be!
We offer the following trips for one or two anglers and can arrange trips for larger groups requiring multiple boats and guides:
The waters we fish will be chosen based on time of year, water conditions and your species preferences.
ALL TRIPS ARE CATCH AND RELEASE FLYFISHING! |

The Au Sable River |
The Au Sable River from Mio Dam to Alcona is approx. 30 miles of trophy Trout water. The river is 100-150 feet wide with an average depth of 4 feet. The river has a medium gradient with deep riffles and pools that will float your hat! More trophy trout come from this stretch of the AuSable than all other Michigan rivers combined. The fishing season on this stretch is from the last Saturday in April until September 30th. There are several major hatches:

Smallmouth bass becomes the fish of choice throughout the warm months of July and August. This is one of the most scenic and under-fished stretches of the Au Sable. Where else can an angler catch two dozen smallies with a chance at a trophy trout on the same trip? This is also great Hex water. We offer an overnight trip to fish the Hex at night and smallmouth the next day. |

The AuSable River Foote Dam to Oscoda, Michigan on Lake Huron |
The last stretch of the AuSable from Foote Dam to Lake Huron is most famous for its great Steelhead and Salmon fishing. AuSable steelhead are in the river 8 months of the year. Spring time gets the biggest run of fish - peak time is March, April and early May. In the fall Salmon first show up in Sept. and early Oct. Steelhead follow with peak months being Oct. and Nov. |

Huron Shore line and river mouths |
November/December in the fall and April/May in the spring are great months for fly fishing around the shore line of Lake Huron and the river mouths. This time of year you never know what you might find - Steelhead, Brown Trout, Lake Trout or even a big Walleye. These fish are all looking for bait fish and will hit streamers very hard. Fish long sink tips and large bait fish patterns this time of year. Places to try on Lake Huron are mouth of the AuSable River, Singing Bridge, Tawas Bay, Harrisville Harbor, mouth of the Thunder Bay River and the mouth of the Ocqueoc River. We do offer Lake Huron charter service for these areas. |

| The Betsie River | |||
Interested in fresh Salmon and no crowds? Come float the Betsie River, near Traverse City, with us in late August and throughout Septempber. This is the best river Salmon fishing I have seen in the Great Lakes region! March is steelhead time on the Betsie. This is probably the hottest river during this time of year, with good numbers of fish and wonderful solitude. |

| The Rifle River | |||
The Rifle River is a beautiful smaller river that we float. It gets a very good run of spring steelhead in April and early May. The late fall (October, November, December) is great time to float the lower reaches of river for trout, steelhead and late run browns. |

| The Manistee River | |||
Trout guides are available for the "flies only" water of the upper Manistee between M-72 and CCC Bridge. This section of river is open to year round trout fishing. Excellent streamer fishing in the early spring (March, April, May) and late fall (October, November). Also fantastic section for mid summer (July, August) terrestrial fishing. |
